Raha and Patrick were getting married in Philadelphia and wanted invitations that celebrated the city and highlighted some of its more distinctive buildings without using the common imagery associated with the city (the Liberty Bell, the LOVE statue, Independence Hall, etc.). The invitation and RSVP cards feature hand-drawn illustrations of buildings located in West Philadelphia (where the wedding took place) and Center City. Since the bride is Iranian, the invitations incorporate griffons, which often appear in Persian art, as well as on the top of the Philadelphia Art Museum. A hand-drawn map using some of the same visual elements as the invitation was also created to show guests where the ceremony, reception and hotels were located.
