When my husband and I got married in October 2011, we had a limited budget for printed materials like save-the-dates, invitations and programs, but we still wanted these things to be unique, feel handmade and convey a sense of whimsy. To tie in with our plans to arrive to the wedding on a tandem bicycle, the use of that image was a clear choice. The two animals representing the bride and the groom were added for humor and to differentiate the materials from others that use the popular tandem bicycle image. All illustrations were drawn by me. Both the save-the-dates and invitations were printed by a local screenprinter, Sire Press, and the envelopes for the invitations were further customized with a hand-carved linoleum block print of a tandem bicycle.
